Here Comes The Sun

Swim Wear: Part 1
First the packing, then the bliss! By-the-sea escapes are full of activities that require specific swimwear.
We leave for our family vacation this week and since we are staying in a house right on the beach, I am literally bringing my whole stash of swimsuits. When in Rome!
With summer winding down, end of season sales are a great time to snag a new suit for a fraction of the peak swim season price.
In this post I shared some tips on how to find that perfect suit, but in today’s post I’m going to highlight three styles that work for different pool and beachside occasions. ( Part 2, here.)
CROCHET
CROCHET: Fun, sexy, minimal coverage.
Crochet and embroidery are gorgeous options for sandy strolls along the water’s edge. This teeny-bikini is paradise worthy for sure. (Rob bought this for me before we left for spring break in Cancun, otherwise I’m not sure I would have been brave enough to try it on!) It’s a low-rise style and very cheeky. The crochet details and shades of blue add to the overall boho-vibe. Soft, comfy and crazy cute. This is the suit for lazing poolside or relaxing in the cabana. While this handmade two-piece is great for lying out, don’t plan on jumping waves or swimming laps.
GRAPHIC
GRAPHIC: Sporty, active, full coverage.
Keep it simple in a solo style. This is the summer of the graphic suit. Off-kilter cool, this one-piece style is everywhere, and the bold graphic options are funny and clever. What I love about this singular silhouette is the easy shape doesn’t feel out-dated. It’s fresh, youthful, and ideal for sun-soaked activities. (You for scuba?) Take a run along the beach, play a game of sand volleyball or dive in and ride the tide. This suit has you covered. It manages to be playful, and dare I say sexy in that 90s Pamela Anderson kind of way. A high impact scene-stealer that lets your legs do the talking.
RESORT
RESORT: Glam, romantic, low cut.
Calling all bathing beauties - tuck a flower in your ear and drink in the last sun-drenched hours in this glamorous swimsuit for poolside pinups. To me this suit is all old Hollywood. Destination: poolside. The deep V, shoulder baring silhouette and belted bow need nothing more than a sun kissed glow and maybe a chic sun hat to help keep you cool. Dazzle from days in the bay to nights by the cape, in a solid color, that shows some skin, but brings an effortless elegance to a summer by the sea. Just add champagne.
So, weather you prefer a suit with a slogan or something a little more strappy, these options are all beach-ready for a summer spent chasing the sun.
