Summer Blends

Three Trends To Try For Summer

Just like your favorite red wine blend, mixing different style combinations can leave you feeling good.

With summer around the corner it’s time to switch out warm layers for the light and breezy. We all know the summer basics: tees, shorts and sundresses, but since the heat can weigh you down, here are three easy ways to add some moxie to the usual summer mix. Enter: straw boat hat, off-the-shoulder tops, and flatform sandals.

Straw Boater Hat

Straw Boater Hat:
Top off your warm-weather look with a wide-brim straw boater. Boaters were popular among men as casual summer-wear in the late 19th century, especially for boating or sailing, hence the name. Recently, thin straw hats have become popular again among the fashion elite.  I love the vintage-French feel this one exudes. It’s the perfect accessory to top off any outfit. Toss one on for the beach, window shipping, or while running a quick errand. I bet you receive a least 3 compliments! Don’t miss the boat on this easy summer style. (Mine is on sale now, here.)

Off-The-Shouler

Off-The-Shoulder (OTS):
The off-the-shoulder top is the playful, sexy antidote to this year’s trend of minimalism. This style is so hot right now! It's a great option for showing some skin without being compromising. Even better, it’s a look that appeals to every taste: classic, romantic, or thrift-store bohemian. An OTS top can go from day to night and leaves plenty of room for accessorizing, think earrings. There are endless options of this look on the market right now. Waterfall sleeves, detailed embroidery and layers of ruffles. Don’t shrug-off this adorable wardrobe-elevating detail.

Flatform Shoes

Flatform Sandals:
Height of a platform, functionality of a flat, another perfect blend. Give yourself a lift with this comfortable sandal. (Seriously, though, these shoes are SO comfortable.)  I love how this style looks minimal and modern. We walked the span of the winery gardens and I didn't stop once to adjust or complain about my feet hurting. (Which might be a record!) The fact that this style allows for long-wear, and gives height makes it a no-brainer. It was so nice not having a stiletto constantly stuck in the dirt! A true summer style booster.

That’s it! Cheers to making an entrance in these statements pieces all summer long!
