Runway Ready

Travel Wear

Travel by plane. It can be a glamorous luxury but also comes with heighted tensions for part of the population. Some get the jitters about jetting down the runway before takeoff. Others fear flying itself. When dealing with long days of travel the last thing you want to regret is your choice of attire.

The perfect airport outfit is cozy and layered. Relaxed shoes for waiting in long lines, a removable layer for altering temperatures. Aim to be your comfiest possible without looking like you just rolled out of bed.

Think fine draped cardigans, loose-fitting T-shirts, and skinny jeans that have some stretch. Add soft layers, like a blanket scarf or cashmere sweater. Strap on your watch so you don’t miss your connections and can keep up with changing time zones. Go with a large carry-on tote to stash travel goodies. Effortless hair in waves, a braid or low ponytail work great.  (Don’t forget your oversized sunglasses for hiding out from the paparazzi.)

You want to keep it simple but still look put together.  The saying goes, you never know who you might run into (I’m hoping traveling celebs!)

The point is, you are going to be standing and sitting for extended periods of time and want to be comfortable. You don’t want to be fussing with uncomfortable garnments, or find yourself too warm or too cold and not able to adjust to changing circumstances.

The airport is a moving, lively place. Get it in gear. Look good. You aren’t the only one enjoying the people watching!
