Feminine Edge

Graphic Tee + Blazer + Heels
There is nothing like an easy outfit on your day off. This is a weekend outfit go-to, and really works in any season. If you love to rock a casual and comfortable street-style vibe, this no-fail combo is for you.
Slip on your favorite graphic tee, add a pair of statement pumps, and finish off the look with a sleek blazer. (Don’t forget your Jackie O sunglasses and a bold lip to liven things up.) These three pieces when combined will instantly transform an outfit.
Graphic shirts are an excellent way to add a quirky detail to any outfit. Be it a statement phrase, (about your coffee intake) a creative caricature design, (pineapples are super popular right now) or another form of art (ice cream, yes, ice cream is art.) Rep your favorite brand, band, or fashion figure. Graphic tees make a statement, so you don’t have to. (Sequin lips are by far my favorite work of art.) Sure you can wear a plain shirt, and while a graphic top may lean “punk,” when styled with a blazer and heels, it takes on sophisticated elegance. Your edgy shirt will be transformed feminine for a casual day or night out.
The key is adding a blazer and heels. It’s that simple. What I love about a blazer is it’s no non-sense look. It doesn’t have to be black either. I love a crisp white blazer, or even a soft blush color. A blazer adds that polished chic element. The more tailored and fitted the better. It’s a piece every woman should have in her closet. It will never go out of style. There are tons of budget friendly versions, or invest in one, as this is a classic and constant wardrobe piece.
The last element is a pair of heels that make you feel like you can do anything. (Got that girl-boss?) Everyone should have a bold statement heel or at least a classic pair of black pumps. These should really be fun. Wear those hot pink kicks you bought with no place to wear. (I know I’m not the only one!) Heading out for drinks after work, but need to get out of your hum-drum work clothes? This is the outfit to throw on. Bust out them killer heels, and sit back as your waiter brings round after round of your signature cocktail. (Or so, one hopes.)
The other component, bottoms, is up to you (because yes, you have to wear pants. Unless you are Kate Moss, or not leaving the house – your choice risky business.) Go with your favorite pair of distressed dark wash jeans like I did, skinny and boyfriend pair especially well with this look. You can spice things up with faux leather leggings, cool loose trousers, or even a pair of scalloped black shorts. A slight front half-tuck of the shirt will keep things from looking sloppy. The front half-tuck is an art. As a novice to this craftsmanship, it might take a tuck/un-tuck or two before you get it right. You don’t want to look like you have some small animal all twisted-up inside your shirt on accident. A quick mirror-check before you go should solve any issues.
Overall, it’s a simple combination that lets you flaunt a fashion statement. Casual, rock ‘n’ roll, or femme, you have the control. You are the master; now go create this look but with your own graphic twist.
